Get to know about our brush picks
Brush Pick Materials
Our brush picks are made of food grade plastic materials. We use PP and biodegradable PLA to make our brush picks. We choose PP and PLA for their high heat tolerance. PP has the added benefit that it does not leach many of the chemicals that other plastics do.
Floss Lines
Depending on choice of floss pick styles and floss thread materials and specifications, we offer single-line, double-line, and multiple lines of up to 5 lines for our floss picks. We also offer various line color combinations of your choosing.
Floss Twisting
We offer various floss twist and denier (D) specifications. For our polyester thread, polyester nylon thread, and polyethylene thread, we apply the Z twist technique. The Z twist helps strengthens the fibers together and will not untwist easily and is correlated to the diameter of a single floss strand. Typically, the larger the Z, the thicker the thread and vice versa. For our denier specifications, we offer a variety of denier threads ranging from 150D to 1050D. Denier refers to weight in grams of 9,000 meters of thread. Typically, the larger the denier, the heavier the thread, and it provides higher elasticity. On the other hand, the smaller the denier, the lighter the thread, and it gives the thread a smoother and more transparent finish. Depending on your clientele and market needs, we provide a variety of floss specifications for your choosing.
Floss Flavor Coating
All of our floss flavor formulas are made in-house and the floss coating is applied with rigorous coating SOPs at our automated production lines.
For our floss picks products, the following flavor coatings are our most popular and requested ones: mint, lemon, green tea, vitamin E, sea salt, fluoride, coconut, strawberry, and fruit punch. Depending on the needs of your target clientele and markets, we can create your desired floss flavor formulas for you.
How To Select Your Floss For Your Target clientele
Customers often struggle to find the ultimatum, the perfect type of floss for teeth cleaning. How to select the most suitable and comfortable floss type for teeth cleaning is never about just choosing one floss type, it is about knowing the slight differences in your tooth gaps and using the right type of floss for those tooth gaps. Therefore, in order to clean and floss your whole mouth, you may need more than one type of floss to get the job done and reach the most desirable and comfortable flossing experience.
For our floss materials, we use synthetic fibers as they have desirable and consistent properties such as high tenacity and high resistance to abrasion and breakage. They are also less prone to be affected by environmental factors such as moisture, bacteria, mildew, etc. We also provide natural fibers upon request.
This is our classic floss that we have been offering to the market for 3 decades. It comes in waxed or unwaxed versions with various fragrances available. The floss thread looks fluffier than other types of floss and absorbs liquids easily. When the floss is absorbed with liquids, it expands and fills up the spaces between teeth and thus helps bring out food particles. It is desirable for people with standard to moderate-wider tooth gaps.
This is our classic floss that we have been offering to the market for decades. It is made of the same material as our classic round-shaped polyester thread, but the thread has a flat surface finish. The flat thread has a wide band along with thin profile surfaces which creates a larger contact area between the tooth gap to help bring out food particles. It comes in waxed or unwaxed versions with various fragrances available. It is desirable for people with standard to moderate-wider tooth gaps.
Our charcoal floss comes with both round and flat shapes. It is made of the same material as our classic polyester threads with its unique liquids’ absorbent property. The charcoal additive provides a hint of odor absorbent charcoal to help reduce unpleasant breath. It also comes in waxed or unwaxed versions and additional fragrance coating is available. It is desirable for people with standard to moderate-wider tooth gaps.
Our polyester nylon thread is most popular and sold among our Japanese clients. It is made of a different type of polyester material than our classic polyester threads. It adds a slight luster to the finishing threads, making it look shiner and glossier than our classic polyester threads. It slides smoothly and is shred and break resistant. It also comes with both round and flat shapes and in waxed or unwaxed versions and additional fragrance coating is available. It is desirable for people with standard to moderate-tight tooth gaps.
Our ultra-high-molecular-weight polyethylene thread or so-called PE thread is the most requested, sold, demanding, and popular in the past ten years around the globe. The PE thread has an ultra-fine band. It is highly break and shred resistant along with strong tensile strength to help bring out hard-to-reach and stubborn food particles. It comes with round-shaped thread finish and with various fragrance coatings for you to choose from. It is desirable for first time users and for people with all kinds of tooth gap sizes and shapes. Due to its unique floss properties, we often use PE floss for our double line floss picks.
Our Polytetrafluorethylene or so-called PTFE thread has gained popularity in the dental hygiene market in the recent years. It is the same material used in high-tech Gore-Tex fabric. It is made of monofilament, which creates a shred-proof barrier. The thread has a flat and wide band finishing look, which creates a larger contact area between teeth. The PTFE material slides easily between the teeth and is less likely to shred or break compared to other standard polyester floss. It comes with various fragrance coatings. It is desirable for people with all kinds of tooth gap sizes and shapes.
Get To Know About Our Floss Pick Handle Materials
Handle Materials
Our floss pick handles are made of food grade plastic materials. Our regular materials include ABS, HIPS, PP, and biodegradable PLA. Different types of floss threads require different plastic materials to ensure the best flossing tenacity and durability rates. For our polyester threads, we use ABS plastic materials. For our PE threads, we use HIPS or PP plastic materials. For our PTFE threads, we use PP materials. Other than our synthetic plastic materials, our biodegradable PLA materials can be used for the floss pick handles of all our floss threads.
Combining The Floss And The Handle Materials
Tenacity strength is a good indication of what constitutes a good floss pick. Yuh Shiuans holds several patents in the areas of our techniques in combining the floss and the floss handle. Keeping high levels of floss tenacity strength while making perfect and smooth edges for our floss pick heads, we bring comfortable use for customers; something we take very seriously.
For our polyester threads, we implement our patented cutting technique in cutting our floss threads while ensuring high floss tenacity and creating a smooth finish for the floss handle head section.
For our PE and PTFE threads, we implement our patented electric arcing technique for arcing our floss threads. We hide the floss threads underneath the surface of the floss handle head section in order to create a slick and smooth finish for the floss handle head section.
Handle Styles
We offer a variety of handle designs for our floss picks. For most of our floss picks, we provide custom logo design service for our clients with terms. The handle styles of our floss picks fall into the following three categories: The F shape design, the Y shape design, and the cartoon-like shape design.
For our F shape handle, the floss is positioned on the profile side of the handle head, in parallel alignment with the handle. We offer a variety of lengths and widths of the F shape handle. The F shape handle is the most ubiquitous floss pick style on the market.
For our Y shape handle, the floss is positioned vertical to the handle. It has a wider and deeper handle head along with a longer handle, which is suitable for cleaning the back of the teeth.
For our cartoon like shape handle, we offer various cartoon like and animal theme handle designs to accommodate your target age group clientele.
Pick Styles
We offer a variety of pick designs for our floss picks, ranging from linear, angular, spiral, and retractable styles. All of our pick designs have a smooth and clean finish and provide cleaning for tooth surfaces and between teeth surfaces.
Packaging Options
All of our floss picks are wrapped in one of the three packaging materials during automated mass production to ensure hygiene and quality: cello plastic wrapper per 25 counts of floss picks, individual plastic wrapper per 1 count of floss pick, and individual paper wrapper per 1 count of floss pick. For these individual wrappers, we offer a variety of print designs of your choosing or you may design your own packaging for your brand.
After each individual floss pick is wrapped into one of the three packaging materials, our automated machinery then places these wrapped floss picks into packaging containers.
We offer four main styles of packaging for our floss picks: plastic containers, blister style containers (HSC or clamshell), resealable zipper bags, and eco-friendly cardboard style containers.
For plastic containers, stickers are used as labels to display packaging design, and the plastic container is wrapped in shrink film for hygiene purposes. For blister containers, we insert cardboard cards for packaging design display. For resealable zipper bags and cardboard containers, packaging design display is printed directly on the packaging containers. We offer packaging design service and you may custom design packaging for your own brand names or store names.
We also offer biodegradable PLA materials for our plastic containers. All of our blisters are made of recyclable PET materials and our cardboard style containers are made of 100% paper based recyclable materials. We are currently working on developing 100% biodegradable materials to substitute for our PET made transparent blisters and wrappers.
